The US Home Committee on Monetary Service has requested paperwork associated to fees filed towards FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried by the Securities and Change Fee (SEC).
The lawmakers wrote that the timing of the SEC’s fees towards SBF raises “severe questions on its course of and cooperation” with the US Division of Justice (DoJ).
Attributable to this, the lawmakers need the Fee to supply all information and communications of its staff between Nov. 2 to Feb. 9. within the enforcement division and workplace of the chairman regarding the SBF fees.
The Committee additional requested the monetary watchdog to supply related paperwork of its interactions with the DoJ through the stated interval.
The SEC has to provide these paperwork earlier than Feb. 24.
SBF was arrested on Dec. 12 within the Bahamas after US Lawyer Damian Williams filed legal fees towards him.
On Dec. 13, the SEC and the Commodity Futures Buying and selling Fee (CFTC) each filed fees towards the disgraced founder.
