Yuga Labs blacklisted no less than 4 marketplaces that do not mandate NFT royalties in its latest NFT drop, Sewer Move.
Sewer Move contains coding that blocks NFT transactions from wallets belonging to Blur, SudoSwap, LooksRare and NFTX, in accordance with Simon Cousaert, The Block Analysis’s Director of Information. LooksRare, SudoSwap and Blur have an optionally available royalty system, and NFTX additionally would not honor royalty funds.
The transfer is the most recent salvo within the ongoing warfare over NFT royalties. In blacklisting these marketplaces, Yuga Labs joins different NFT creators in blocking royalty-evading platforms from transacting with their NFTs.
In September, QQL blacklisted X2Y2, one other NFT market with optionally available royalties, from coping with the QQL Mint Move NFT drop. X2Y2 responded to the blacklisting by saying, “When another person can resolve the place you’ll be able to switch your NFT, you aren’t the actual house owners anymore.”
Sewer Move netted $1.3 million in buying and selling quantity one hour after its launch, and has amassed almost $5 million value of ETH 4 hours after the launch.
